SwissText 2025 Best Paper Award goes to Michelle Wastl and collaborators
The SwissText 2025 conference has recognized a paper by the Department of Computational Linguistics and 20 Minuten (TX Group) with the Best Paper Award.
The paper 20min-XD: A Comparable Corpus of Swiss News Articles is joint work by Michelle Wastl, Jannis Vamvas, Selena Calleri and Rico Sennrich. It presents 20min-XD, a French–German, document-level comparable corpus of news articles, sourced from the news outlet 20 Minuten/20 minutes. The work was funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (projects InvestigaDiff and MUTAMUR).
This year, the Department of Computational Linguistics had a strong presence at SwissText 2025, with two additional papers presented:
- LLM-based Translation for Latin: Summaries Improve Machine Translation by Dominic P. Fischer and Martin Volk
- GOOSVC: Version Control for Content Creation with Generative AI by David Grünert, Alexandre de Spindler and Volker Dellwo
