Outstanding Paper Award at EMNLP 2026
Sina Ahmadi and Rico Sennrich have received an Outstanding Paper Award at EMNLP 2026 for their paper:
Here is the official nomination text by the Best Paper Committee:
Introduces an innovative, linguistically grounded geospatial resource for language detection, comprising 929 geolects across 20 languages. By adopting continuous geolocation-based annotations rather than static language labels, it offers an elegant, scalable solution to address representation gaps in low-resource languages and language varieties.
An Outstanding Paper Award is a rare honor: Only 0.14% of submissions received such an award.
