Text und Bild in Leichter Sprache (en: "Text and Images in Easy-to-Read Language")
Scientific abstract
The SNSF-funded project Text und Bild in Leichter Sprache (Text and Images in Easy-to-read Language) aims to investigate if, and to which extent images facilitates reading comprehension of easy-to-read language.
- Illustration: Do images support the comprehension of L2 texts?
- Congruence: Can a difference be identified between a congruent and a divergent text-image relationship?
- Text-Image Relationship: Do images that depict content at the supra-lexical level support comprehension differently compared to images that refer to the lexical level?
- Placement: Does the placement of images below vs. to the right of the text play a role in the reading process and text comprehension?
