Daniel Friedrichs
I conduct research on speech perception, production and synthesis. Besides, I am particularly interested in all aspects of acoustic phonetics, perceptual development, multi-modal perception of speech and, more recently, the cortical dynamics of speech production and recognition. My initial research was on speech rhythm and forensic speaker identification. Currently, I am investigating the acoustic characteristics of vowels produced in different production styles by speakers of different gender and age at relatively high fundamental frequencies.
I graduated from Humboldt University of Berlin in 2010 and received an MA from the University of Zurich in 2012. Since 2012 I am a PhD student in the Phonetics Lab at the University of Zurich. In 2014 I earned the teaching diploma 'Lehrdiplom für Maturitätsschulen (LfM)' from the University of Zurich.
