I have a PhD in General Linguistics from Alzahra University, Tehran, Iran. I hold a B.A in English language and Literature from Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz and an M.A in General Linguistics from Alzahra University, Iran. During my PhD study, I was awarded a grant by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran for a research stay at the Computational Linguistics department of the University of Zurich. Recently, I received a scholarship from the University of Zurich provided by Stiftung Mercator Schweiz for a research stay at the University of Zurich. My research interest primarily lies in the field of forensic phonetics, in particular exploring the speaker-specific acoustic parameters encoded in the speech of Persian speakers and other languages and dialects spoken in Iran. So far, I performed different numerous analyses on two Persian speech corpora: 1) vowel analysis based on long-term features, 2) consonant analysis with particular focus on voiceless fricatives and nasals, and 3) speech rhythm analysis. I am also interested in investigating the interaction between language-specificity and speaker-specificity of the acoustic parameters from a FVC point of view. I, with collaboration of Phonetics and Speech Sciences group of the University of Zurich, aim to study the degree to which acoustic cues vary across speakers of the different languages. We draw on a hybrid methodology, combining auditory-acoustic approach with automatic speaker recognition system with human analysis.
