The TreeAligner - A Tool for Parallel Treebanks

The TreeAligner is a tool for work with parallel treebanks. The current version (1.2.3) runs on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X (only with MacPorts). This version supports:

  • Browsing treebanks
  • Creating new alignments
  • Searching single and parallel treebanks
Stockholm TreeAligner

A parallel treebank consists of two corpora encoded with the TIGER XML Format, a file with word- and phrase-alignments.

Search

For searching mono- and multilingual treebanks, the TreeAligner contains an implementation of the TIGER query language for annotated corpora. Additionally to the original features, it supports the following extensions:

  • restricted universal quantification
  • searching in treebanks annotated with frame semantics
